Fun Days

Just for Fun in Southampton

CIM Members attended a church fun day in Southampton in June.

The aim of the day is to make the concept of Church more accessable to the local area. A particular focus was made towards activities that men might find appealing.

CIM fielded two cars - a Tiger kit car and a Peugeot 309 Road Rally car.

The event was well attended - despite being very wet. Many good conversations were had outside with the cars. A number of the visitors were very happy challenging our ethics and the concept of Christians racing and not giving all to Charity.

**Many thanks to Portswood Church photographer Paul Harknett, for capturing the wet essence of what we do!

Totton Fun Day

On a sunny Saturday in early June Andy Clark and John Clayton took a CIM stand to a church organised fun day , in Totton Southampton. John had contacts with one of the organisers, and being hosted in Andy's home town it made sense to attend as well!

The stand consisted of an easy up marquee, kit car, support vehicle, and a lot of sun cream!

The stand was very well received by the organisers.

Many good conversations were had during the day with non-Christians about the car and why we do what we do.

We were also asked to organise a tyre changing competition, so the car was pushed (no engines running for H and S reasons) and set up for the competition.

At the end of the competition John, Andrew and Edward took on a team from Mini's 'R' Us, in a shoot out. Unfortunately we were no match for 70 plus years combined experience of changing wheels and we came a close second.

The event was a huge success and we have already been invited to come back next year!
